IFDC is a non-profit public international organization addressing critical issues such as agricultural sustainability, international food security, the alleviation of global hunger and poverty, environmental protection and the promotion of economic development and self-sufficiency. It accomplishes this through the development and transfer of effective and environmentally sound crop nutrient technology and agribusiness expertise in developing and transitioning nations. IFDC's results-oriented projects cover specialties from agribusiness to engineering and technology development, from management information systems to crop nutrient management, policy reform and market development.
With the support of the government of Netherlands, IFDC is implementing the cassava+ project- a public private partnership intervention-to increase agricultural production in Nigeria and other West African nations. The project HQ in Abuja, Nigeria and current operation take place across Nigeria.

Position: TRAINING AND DEMONSTRATION SPECIALIST- RIVERS STATE
Job Requirement
> Bachelors degree in Agirc extension or similar discipline
> Experience in Cassava production
> Five(5) years of relevant work experience
> Knowledge of participatory training methodologies and delivery
> Strong interpersonal relations
> Fluent in English (written and oral skills)
> Computer skills in word processing, powerpoint, excel
> Knowledge of agricultural development is desired
> Knowledge of on-farm demonstration
Position: AGRONOMIST- RIVER STATE
Duties and Responsibilities:
> Work with IFDC's Agronomic team to develop an appropriate package of practices for south eastern Nigeria
> Support the protocol and organization of field trails and farmersdemonstrations in Rivers State
> Organize training programs in targeted sites of southern Nigeria
> Support the development of training materials farmer for groups and service providers
Job Requirements
> Bachelor's degree in Soil Science or similar discipline
> Five years of relevant work experience
> Experience in Cassava production
> Knowledge of participatory training methodologies and delivery
> Strong interpersonal relations
> Fluent in English (written and oral skills)
> Computer skills in word processing, powerpoint, excel
> Knowledge of agricultural development is desired
Position: ORGANIZED FARM GROUP ASSISTANT- RIVERS STATE
Duties and Responsibilities:
> Support the cassava+ technical team in liasing with local community officials and farmers
> Provide linkage with the organised cassava farmer groups to support improved cassava production
> Assist in the organisation of training programs in targeted sites of south-eastern Nigeria
> Support the cassava+ staff in day to day activities
Job Requirements
> Bachelor's degree, agriculture preferred
> Strong knowledge of Rivers State farming practice
> Experience in Cassava production
> Knowledge of benefits of farm groups and cooperatives
> Strong interpersonal relations
> Fluent in English (written and oral skills)
> Computer skills in word processing, powerpoint, excel
> Knowledge of agricultural development is desired
Position: FIELD ASSISTANT- Rivers State
> Manage IFDC finances and administration at the satelite office in Rivers State
> Work in accordance with IFDC procedurs to administer funds
> Produce regular monthly budgets and submit monthly satelite returns to the Field Accountant in Abuja
> Maintain up-to-date project accounts
> Ensure accurate forcasting, prompt disbursal and reconciliation of expenditures
> Preparation of all payment vouchers, journals vouchers and cheques, and ensure the timely settlement of all invoices
> Monitor expenditure and advise on potential issues with regards to forcasting, disbursement and accounting
> Maintain a petty cash account for the satelite office
> Establish and maintain an office filling system
> Take responsibility for all logistic arrangements for visiting staff
> Ensure effective coordination of IFDC drivers and vehicles within the region, etc
Job Requirements
> Preferably educated to degree standard or equivalent
> Previous experience working in an accounting/administration department
> Ability to work as a member of a team
> Excellent financial management/accountancy skills
> Strong ethics
> Good IT skills and confidence/proficiency in all Microsoft packages, and accounting software
> Attention to details and accuracy
> Ability to think ahead and produce accurate report
> A confident communicator who can liase with member and resolve issues
> Willingness to be flexible and respond in a timely manner
> Experience in development organisation prefered
The location the above positions is in Rivers State and the duration is 1 year subject to renewal
